Central Pollution Control Board

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) of India is a statutory organization under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (Mo.E.F.C.C.). It is the apex organization in country in the field of pollution control, as a technical wing of MoEFCC.  It Co-ordinates the activities of the State Pollution Control Boards by providing technical assistance and guidance and also resolves disputes among them.

Roles and Responsibilities of CPCB

  1. CPCB Shall identify institute of Repute (IoRs) in consultation with MoEF, NKN and SPCBs.
  2. To monitor and publish activities of NKN and third-party assessment works carried out by IORs.
  3. To provide monthly progress reports of the monitoring status.
