The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) of India is a statutory organization under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (Mo.E.F.C.C.). It is the apex organization in country in the field of pollution control, as a technical wing of MoEFCC. It Co-ordinates the activities of the State Pollution Control Boards by providing technical assistance and guidance and also resolves disputes among them.
Roles and Responsibilities of CPCB
- CPCB Shall identify institute of Repute (IoRs) in consultation with MoEF, NKN and SPCBs.
- To monitor and publish activities of NKN and third-party assessment works carried out by IORs.
- To provide monthly progress reports of the monitoring status.
